One-on-One

From Blank Page to Brilliant – A practical workshop for high school and ESL students: thesis statements, paragraph structure, evidence, transitions, introductions, conclusions, editing, and turning scattered ideas into strong essays.

Staring at a blank page and have no idea where to start? You’re not alone.

Essay Rescue! is a practical, encouraging workshop designed for high school and ESL students who want to become stronger, more confident academic writers.

I will take the mystery out of essay writing and break the process into manageable steps. You’ll learn how to turn scattered thoughts into organized ideas, develop a strong thesis statement, build effective paragraphs, use evidence to support your argument, create smooth transitions, and write introductions and conclusions that actually work.

We’ll also tackle one of the most important skills of all: editing your own writing. You’ll learn how to spot common problems, strengthen awkward sentences, improve word choice, and make your writing clearer and more polished.

As a professional writer, award-winning indie author, and CELTA-certified English instructor with more than 20 years of ESL teaching experience, I know that good writing isn’t about being “naturally gifted.” It’s about having the right tools, understanding the process, and learning how to communicate your ideas effectively.

Whether you’re struggling with essays, adjusting to academic writing in English, or aiming for stronger grades, Essay Rescue! will give you a practical toolkit you can use again and again.

Bring your ideas. Bring your questions. We’ll build the essay together.

Perfect for students who want to:

• Organize their ideas before they start writing
• Write stronger thesis statements
• Build clear, well-developed paragraphs
• Use evidence effectively
• Improve introductions, conclusions, and transitions
• Edit and revise their own work
• Feel more confident about essays and written assignments

Less stress. Better structure. Stronger writing.
